Welcome

I want to make my music as accessible as possible. In pursuit of that goal, I have implemented some changes:

Free Digital Downloads

Going forward, digital downloads of my entire body of work are free on my website as well as Bandcamp:

Note: On Bandcamp, enter $0 when prompted for a price.

Ad-free streaming Options

I wanted to offer some alternatives to paid and ad-infested streaming platforms for those who find incessant ads invasive:

  • My Website: I have all of my music available for streaming on my Music Page. Alternatively, I have embedded a SoundCoud Player. SoundCloud is ad-free when embedded.

  • Bandcamp: I have enabled unlimited streaming on Bandcamp. I can't control the popup that appears on the mobile app, but it can be closed out an unlimited number of times. On desktop, this isn't an issue.

  • YouTube: My studio albums as well as other videos are posted in full on my YouTube Channel. I urge the use of adblock when listening to my videos on YouTube.

Low-Tier Pricing on Digital Storefronts (Jan 2024)

I have put in a request to iTunes and Amazon to place my music’s digital prices at the lowest tier they make available. These lowest-tier prices are:

  • $0.69 per track

  • $1.99 per whole album containing 2 or more tracks

Pricing levels are set by the platform - the only control I have over pricing is submitting a request through my distributor. There is no option to make it free, and iTunes/Amazon are able to deny the request if they choose. This pricing should be reflected on these storefronts by mid-January 2024 unless rejected by the platforms.

Why?

Spotify has announced changes to their artist payout policy, implementing annual stream minimums before a song is considered “qualified” for the royalties it generates. This will redirect millions of dollars rightfully earned by independent musicians to established artists and Spotify’s industry partners.

Streaming is immensely powerful for both listeners and artists, but there are consequences to music as an art form when the market share of access is controlled by a small handful of large companies. I want to live in a world where art’s value is determined by the artist and the beholder, not engagement metrics and quarterly reports. All art has value, and all artists deserve their royalties, no matter how large or small.

Setting this up is still a work in progress. Let me know if you run into any issues I didn't mention by clicking here.
